2016 Round up blog - mclcreate

Thursday, 22 December 2016

Looking back over 2016, it is clear that we have a lot to be proud of.

In January we kicked off the year with our client Swinton’s Annual Conference, bringing the entire company together under the unifying theme of ‘I Am Swinton’ through the use of live webcasting, polls and an interactive Q&A. In total, 750 employees attended the conference with a further 1060 watching the stream, 886 of which were live. The conference led to a series of training events throughout the year, carrying on the essence of this conference, linking back to the key messages.

During the Edinburgh Festival this summer, we helped out with the Standard Life Opening Event, named Deep Time, which celebrated the unique geological history of Edinburgh, and used the western side of the castle as the canvas for a stunning video projected narrative.

Ricoh’s sales conference was reinvented by mclcreate this year too. The team created a fresh approach to this one-day conference, networking, exhibition and awards celebration, designed to motivate the 450-strong sales force. In an innovative move, the entire event was themed around the fictional launch of a new TV station:  Shine TV.

We have also supported a number of other events, including the Edgbaston fireworks, Retail Trust’s Midsummer Celebration, AMCO’s exhibition stand and Glenfiddich’s live whisky tasting webcast.

2016 was a big year for the company as we opened a new office in Edinburgh, a larger 1,500m2 facility creating more space for office staff, client previews and a warehouse three times larger than before. Alongside this we had several new appointments, including Mike Donoghue to Senior Business Development Manager and Mike McGouchrane as Head of Engagement, as well as bringing in The Curve Group to fulfil HR needs within the business.

What have our clients said about us this year?

“It was an exceptional event, that’s all I can really say! I spoke to one die-hard sales manager last night. He said he’d been coming to these events for 20 years and this is the best one ever. That sums it up really. We really appreciate the work mclcreate have done for us.” Ricoh.

“What a fantastic, memorable and dynamic way for Swinton to begin its new era. We wanted a fresh, forward-thinking event that demonstrated our commitment to change, empowered our employees and showed how we could work together to achieve great things in the future.  The levels of engagement at the conference and via the live stream were truly spectacular. mclcreate delivered in spades!” Swinton.

“Projection is a powerful tool for engagement at these type of events. Working alongside mclcreate has allowed us to effectively support this show stopping display at the iconic Edinburgh Castle.” Blue-I Theatre Technology.

“The team at mclcreate are absolute professionals and a delight to work with. In the pre-event phase they were accommodating, innovative and flexible, and very mindful that as a charity our budgets were not big.  They advised and supported us in making the stunning venue of Manchester Cathedral really work for our event, and the final event delivery was seamless and perfect!  I would not hesitate to work with them again!” D&G Productions Ltd.

“We were delighted with our stand and the professionalism of its build. Having mclcreate on board from the start meant that we benefitted from its many years of experience in exhibitions and knowledge on everything from logistics to technology and transport. We wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.” AMCO

For me, I always think the perfect presentation is easy – you just have to have something to say and believe that people have come to hear you say it.
