Sales Director talks about mclcreate and the events industry

Wednesday, 04 February 2015

Sales Director Simon Jelley took time out from his busy schedule to have a chat with Lime Venue Portfolio, one of the businesses we work with.
Here’s what he had to say...
Hi Simon, thanks for talking to us, firstly can you tell us a bit about mclcreate?
mclcreate is something new in the events sector. We are a one-stop shop offering clients a complete service from start to finish. That includes planning, production and delegate management.
Our roots in audiovisual technology mean we can provide for all the technical requirements as well. Owning and supplying our own equipment helps us to stay cost-effective.
As a company that works in the events industry, what mclcreate offers is definitely something new and exciting. What do you think mclcreate brings to events?
We bring our years of experience in the events sector, as well as creative flair and a can-do attitude. We work with a variety of clients up and down the country, which gives us the opportunity to gain expertise in different sectors.
We work with Network Rail and Transport for London, and we have put on events for retailers like Mamas & Papas. We’re able to cater for big international gatherings as well. Italy and Abu Dhabi are two of the recent locations where we’ve recently been hired to deliver business conferences.
Simon goes on to answer more questions, including: What is the process you go through once a booking has been received? How do you come up with the design ideas for each event? For anyone who wants a career within the events industry, what is your best piece of advice? And crucially: What’s the best event you have worked at?

Looking back over 2016, it is clear that we have a lot to be proud of. In January we kicked off the year with our client Swinton’s Annual Conference, bringing the entire company together under the unifying theme of ‘I Am Swinton’ through the use of live webcasting, polls and an interactive Q&A.

For me, I always think the perfect presentation is easy – you just have to have something to say and believe that people have come to hear you say it.

We are often asked for the latest technology or piece of equipment when planning an event. The events industry, like all others, has to adapt to be well positioned to utilise the advances coming our way from the technology world.
