BADMINTONscotland teams up with mclcreate for the World Championships

Wednesday, 11 January 2017 Emirates Arena, Glasgow

BADMINTONscotland today announced its latest partnership for the TOTAL BWF World Championships 2017 with mclcreate appointed to provide event production services when the biggest badminton tournament on the world circuit comes to Glasgow’s Emirates Arena in August.

This will involve the introduction of the latest LED technology, enhancing the current lighting arrangement with a more advanced package.

The company, with offices across the UK, have been involved in the Scottish Open Grand Prix since 2014 and after the success of last November’s Championship at the Emirates Arena, BADMINTONscotland Chief Executive Anne Smillie had no hesitation in inviting mclcreate to become World Championship partners.

She said: “We are delighted to welcome mclcreate on board. They can boast an impressive track record with their work at the last three Scottish Opens and we are excited about what they will provide at the World Championships.

“Their work will enhance the spectator experience with their technological innovations as they ramp up the atmosphere inside the Arena with their use of music, video effects, lighting and pyrotechnics.

“We look forward to working with them again and I am sure mclcreate will play a key role in making it a memorable World Championships.”

Gordon Mackinnon, Regional Manager North for mclcreate, said: “I am once again thrilled to be working with BADMINTONscotland to help deliver the Sports Presentation element of the 2017 World Championships.

“Huge spaces need equally huge solutions and I am confident that our blend of Hi-Definition Camera systems and High Resolution LED screens will capture and display the dazzling high speed action of the competitors playing the fastest racquet sport on the planet”

The TOTAL BWF World Championships 2017 will be staged in Glasgow’s Emirates Arena from August 21-27.

It is being delivered in partnership with Glasgow Life on behalf of Glasgow City Council and with funding support from EventScotland and UK Sport.
