Game changer for Hilton and mclcreate
Live communication expert, mclcreate, recently supported its long term client Hilton with its 40th birthday celebration, ‘Game Changer’, which took place at its Birmingham Metropole venue on 31 August 2016. Over 370 guests, featuring customers, suppliers and staff enjoyed an evening reflecting on the last 40 years with a fine three course meal, self-service bar and entertainment provided by the Abba Revival tribute band.
Established in 1976, the Hilton Birmingham Metropole has been at the forefront of the hospitality and events industry over the past four decades.
The strong working relationship with Hilton has seen mclcreate providing creative, technical and AV equipment for the hundreds of events held each year. ‘Game Changer’ proved to be a phenomenal success, with guests receiving a retro-themed goody bag containing a much needed ‘head changer’ after party kit that included a detox tea, Alka-Seltzer and tic tacs, along with a Rubik’s cube keyring.
With vintage arcade games for attendees to play, as well as innovative facial recognition technology in the pre party drinks reception, guests were treated to a combination of retro and cutting-edge technology. Tablets were provided on each table hosting a general knowledge quiz, with real time leader boards visible in the room. Providing a dynamic competition the quiz also featured a mix of questions on the Hilton Birmingham Metropole and mclcreate, as well as questions from the year 1976.
“We get a great sense of pride when we are able to collaborate with our clients in this way, “comments Simon Jelly, Sales Director of mclcreate. “The event was a great way for Hilton to celebrate its outstanding success, and we were delighted to be a part of the planning and execution of this special occasion.”
Patrick Stapleton, General Manager of Hilton Birmingham Metropole, comments: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank the mclcreate team for their consistent hard work with events such as this. ‘Game Changer’ incorporated many elements, from the traditional networking side to the cutting edge facial recognition, and everyone is delighted with the resounding success of the night. Here is to another 40 years!”
