We have recently added another layer to our one-stop shop event offering.
We now offer Delegate and Event Management - a host of tailored services, from sourcing the perfect locations, suppliers and speakers, to delegate transport arrangements and the all-important social agenda.
Rebecca Jansson brings a wealth of event experience to mclcreate that will help us grow our offering and make events a much easier and smoother process for our clients.
How long have you worked in this field?
I have 13 years’ experience in meetings, incentive travel, conferences and events. I look forward to growing and leading the new division at mclcreate.
Have you dealt with any sectors in particular?
It really has been varied – from Pharmaceutical to Oil and Gas, from Drinks to Finance.
What’s the biggest event you’ve catered for?
I’ve worked at local meetings of 50, right the way up to international events of 1,000.
What’s your most memorable event?
I once travelled to South Africa to work at a conference on a game reserve. I remember walking across the conference area to fetch something and being followed by a group of inquisitive monkeys and an antelope. An incredible experience that I will never forget.
What’s the most unusual delegate requirement you’ve met?
At one surgical training course in Cyprus we had to source pig’s intestines and chicken feet overnight, after the prearranged samples were held at customs! The session leader was frantic but we managed to pull it out of the bag and when the session commenced, everything was in place for the delegates.
Phew! So what are your top tips for effective delegate management?
Be organised, understand the client and their brief. There will always be unusual requests, so expect them! Be imaginative and innovative when thinking of event solutions for the client. Events are never straightforward, so be flexible and adapt to change.
It’s essentially about getting a detailed knowledge of exactly what the client and delegates need, and delivering it to the highest standard. The hard work pays off when you see an event through and everyone says what a great experience they’ve had.
