The Ritz Carlton Abama, Tenerife
mclcreate’s delegate & events management team partnered with our internal AV team to deliver every aspect of the events for the client.
The team researched the location for the client, then sourced the hotel (which was chosen from three suitable hotels/venues), created and administered the registration website, managed all delegate logistics, along with creating a bespoke social agenda based on the clients brief. They were also on-site to welcome guests and ensure everything ran smoothly so the client could focus on the key messages and content.
The Ritz Carlton Abama was chosen as the final venue due to its capability to host our different requests from the main meeting room and breakout requirements, to our multiple dinner requests that had to differ each evening for each of the 4 nights.
The group were welcomed to the hotel on the first evening with a BBQ buffet on their own private beach. The company logo and key message was projected onto a cliff face to set the tone for the week ahead. As the brief for this evening was relaxed and informal, we arranged for low sunk couches and beanbags to be scattered around low tables and fire burners so guests could relax after their day of travel and meet fellow colleagues. We also ensured all the furniture was in the company colours to help maintain brand identity.
Following the brief of an afternoon team building activity and off-site dinner, we sourced a banana plantation in the hills. Our client agreed that this was the perfect setting for the team build as it was somewhere a bit different, but also a key trade for Tenerife. The team building was run through a local company and involved the delegates learning different Canarian cultures. This ranged from learning a traditional folk dance to making the local mojo sauce. The dinner was served that evening actually in the middle of the banana plantation where the guests were served a delicious meal on a 50ft long table – definitely a WOW setting.
The final evening of the event was topped off with a black tie gala dinner and awards show, which was produced seamlessly by our team in the main plenary room of the hotel. The delegate and events team had to turn the room from a meeting room into an elegant and beautiful space for the awards. After the awards the group then danced and celebrated the night away in the hotel’s own nightclub – held exclusively for this group.
The event was a total success, with delegates leaving inspired and motivated for the year ahead.
