Old Fruitmarket, Glasgow 2012
The IRN-BRU SFL End of Season Awards brought together the top talent from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd divisions of the Scottish Football League. Held at the Old Fruitmarket, a hugely versatile venue, located in one of the oldest quarters of Glasgow, Merchant City, the venue features a vaulted roof, cast iron columns and balcony. As its name suggests, this Victorian buildings previous life, was that of a fruit and vegetable market.
Ensuring the evening would go without a hitch, considering the complexity of the requirement at hand, the conference team from mclcreate worked alongside Stripe Communications pre-event, creating everything from visuals and ground plans, to content creation, and the design of the stage set and lighting.
The evenings AV package included Spyder widescreen projection including live video feeds of the awards ceremony, enabling the audience of over 300 to clearly see what was happening on the stage. The 7m x 3m screen provided the backdrop for the awards, with screen graphics and pre-designed video stings, cued up to introduce each of the evenings awards.
