mclcreate drives success with SAIC
Many employers seek to create an engaging environment in the workplace. The SAIC group spoke to mclcreate for a unique solution.
Automotive specialists at the SAIC Motor UK Technical Centre required an innovative and creative space within the midlands office. Turning to live communications experts mclcreate, six innovation pods have been created inside the office to promote collaboration between the SAIC group employees.
The design and engineer experts at the SAIC office needed work areas to engage with colleagues and develop creative processes. Initially proposed as a temporary solution, the success of the six flexible work areas has resulted in them becoming permanent fixtures within the office. The six pods each represent an important element in the design and manufacture process of vehicles. The pods are colour coded to reflect the corporate identity, and each is adorned with an inspirational quote for added stimulus.
“From the initial conversation with the client, it was clear that providing an engaging and unobtrusive space within the office was the priority,” comments Lorna Hughes, Business Development Manager at mclcreate. “After developing the idea of the innovation pods, we had just one weekend to deliver the solution. The prospect of the employees leaving work on the Friday and to return on Monday morning to a new look office space provided a great challenge, and we are pleased to have been able to supply this for the SAIC employees.
The brief from the client focussed on promoting inspiration within the Birmingham SAIC office, suitable for the 250 employees. With a timeline of under a week, mclcreate demonstrated its expertise in communications and delivery to achieve an original solution. The SAIC employees now benefit from the innovation pods, as ideas are spawned and transformed between the different spaces, symbolising the design process.
