NFU Conference goes live thanks to mclcreate
mclcreate delivered a unique, multi-platform project at the National Farmers’ Union (NFU) Conference 2016, helping the annual event attract a record 1400 visitors.
Held at the ICC in Birmingham, events specialist mclcreate provided state of the art equipment including cameras and cabling, to facilitate the live streaming of the conference to YouTube and the NFU website. Providing a complete digital package, mclcreate also designed and built a custom NFU mobile application. The app provided event delegates with live updates from the event, venue information, as well as biographies on speakers, and live streaming from the main speaker sessions, and was a first for the NFU conference.
The conference featured talks from industry experts, including the UK Environment Secretary Lizz Truss. Video Content was immediately was available online via web streaming, as well as being broadcast to the busy press room.
“We have built a strong relationship with mclcreate and value their experience, professionalism and creativity,” commented an NFU membership events manager. “The 2016 conference proved to be our most successful to date. With the upcoming EU referendum, as well as key debates surrounding the dairy and livestock industries, the 2016 conference was crucial to providing informative, important information to our members. We would like to thank mclcreate for its support throughout the conference.”
The two day event covered the most pressing topics currently in the farming industry, including the role of renewable energy and the upcoming EU referendum. Key figures in agriculture delivered sessions through the two days to a packed auditorium; with a sound system provided by mclcreate ensuring delegates in the lunch area did not miss any information.
“mclcreate is delighted to have supported the NFU for its 2016 conference,” comments Stuart MacLachlan, head of projects. Working with the NFU, we provided a total event solution to complement the infrastructure in place at the ICC. The mobile application was a new feature, and we have received great feedback on this so far.”
